Tag Questions

Tag questions: a short question added at the end of a sentence and separated by a comma.

It's usually phrases like:    isn't it?,    doesn't she,   don't you think?  

We use these when we want some kind of validation or when we want someone to respond with their opinion

"That movie was kind of weird, wasn't it?"

Now, if I believe my listener will agree with me, the intonation of my voice will go down on the tag "wasn't it".

However, if I'm not sure, and I want confirmation or validation, then my voice will go up on the tag.

"It's a beautiful day, isn't it."

"she plays the piano well, doesn't she?"

"That test was difficult, wasn't it?"
